OEM / private label / custom machine / solution project
OEM, ODM & Custom Laser Marking Project Inquiry
Use this page when your requirement goes beyond a normal catalog machine quotation: functional machine changes, private-label branding, packaging and documentation, or a project-based marking system with vision, motion, automation and data interfaces.
Choose the right inquiry path
Standard machine purchase and custom engineering are different buying paths
Most single-machine buyers can start from a standard fiber, UV or CO₂ marking machine. Use this custom inquiry when the machine needs non-standard functional changes, your brand needs a private-label supply package, or the production task requires a project-specific marking solution.
Standard-Platform Functional Customization
Start with an existing Zhuorui laser marking machine platform and modify selected functions, accessories, fixtures or machine structures without redesigning the complete production system.
- Rotary axis or custom fixture
- Motorized Z-axis, XY table or autofocus
- Marking field, worktable or enclosure changes
- Voltage, software language or confirmed control options
- Other machine-level functional changes
OEM, Private Label & Brand Customization
Build a repeatable machine supply package around your brand for distribution, wholesale, resale or an OEM product line.
- Customer logo and private-label branding
- Model naming, labels and nameplate information
- Machine color, exterior appearance and confirmed housing modifications
- Branded carton, packaging artwork and shipping marks
- Customer-branded manuals and language versions
- Repeat configuration consistency for ongoing orders
- Destination-market, safety and documentation requirements for the specific program
Solution / Project-Based Customization
Start from the workpiece and production process when a standard machine with added options is no longer enough. The marking system is then defined around handling, motion, control and acceptance requirements.
- Vision positioning and part recognition
- Conveyor, flying marking and multi-station handling
- Automatic loading / unloading or robot interface
- Multi-axis motion and complex fixture systems
- PLC I/O, MES / database and traceability interfaces
- Verification, reject logic, safety and acceptance requirements
OEM / ODM clarification
Brand cooperation and engineering depth are not the same thing
OEM or private-label work may be as simple as logo, packaging and repeat configuration, or it may be combined with functional machine changes. ODM normally involves deeper participation in product definition or configuration for the customer's market. For repeat programs, the approved sample machine, appearance reference, packaging artwork or configuration baseline can be used as the confirmation reference for subsequent supply. A project only becomes solution-level when the production process itself requires broader handling, motion, automation, control, data or safety engineering.
What to prepare
Send the information that matches your type of customization
You do not need to know every technical value before contacting us. Start with the real workpiece, required result, machine changes, branding needs or production interfaces that matter to your project.
| Project route | Useful information to send | What Zhuorui needs to determine |
|---|---|---|
| Functional machine customization | Workpiece, material, required mark, preferred base machine if known, fixture, rotary, table, enclosure, voltage, software or other requested functions. | Whether the requirement can stay on a standard machine platform and which changes need confirmation. |
| OEM / private label | Target machine, expected quantity or repeat plan, logo, appearance, color, labels, packaging, manuals, language and branding requirements. | Which brand elements and repeat-supply details can be standardized for the agreed configuration. |
| Solution / project customization | Workpiece, production flow, loading method, positioning, line speed or takt, motion, vision, automation, PLC/MES, verification, reject, safety and acceptance requirements. | Whether the project needs a wider marking system and which interfaces must be defined before quotation. |
| Destination market & documentation | Country or region of use, voltage/plug expectations, language, required labels, safety expectations and any customer documentation requirements. | Helps separate commercial-market requirements from machine engineering and identifies items that need project-specific confirmation. |
| OEM confirmation baseline | Approved sample machine, appearance reference, logo files, packaging artwork, label layout or agreed configuration list where available. | Creates a practical reference for repeat OEM/private-label supply without assuming unverified tolerances or delivery commitments. |
| Attachments | Part photos, drawings, mark examples, line-layout sketches, packaging artwork or other representative files. | Visual references reduce assumptions and help separate confirmed requirements from open questions. |
Engineering review logic
The deeper the customization, the more project boundaries must be defined before quotation
A machine-level customization may only need a confirmed accessory, fixture or enclosure change. A private-label project may focus on branding, packaging and repeat configuration. A solution-level project can require physical, optical, control, data and acceptance interfaces to be reviewed together.

After you submit
The review process depends on the type of customization
A machine-level modification does not need the same engineering review as a production-line solution. The first step is therefore to classify the project correctly before the quotation scope is confirmed.
Configuration review → confirm requested machine changes → sample check if required → quotation.
Machine and quantity review → confirm logo, appearance, packaging, documentation and destination-market requirements → agree the sample / appearance / packaging / configuration baseline for repeat supply → quotation.
Application review → interface definition → feasibility or sample validation → system direction → quotation.
Classify the Project
Confirm whether the inquiry is machine-level customization, OEM/private label or a solution-level project.
Define the Required Changes
Clarify the machine functions, brand package, destination-market requirements or production interfaces that must be changed from the standard route.
Validate Where Required
Representative parts, marking results or sequence requirements may need sample testing or feasibility review. For repeat OEM/private-label programs, the confirmation reference may instead be an approved sample machine, appearance reference, packaging artwork or agreed configuration baseline.
Configuration & Quotation
Once the technical and commercial scope is sufficiently defined, the machine or system quotation can be prepared.

OEM / custom inquiry FAQ
Common questions before a customized laser marking machine or system is quoted
The exact route depends on whether you need a normal machine, a machine-level modification, private-label supply or a project-specific marking solution.
What is the difference between functional machine customization and a custom solution?
Functional machine customization starts from an existing laser marking machine platform and changes selected functions, accessories, fixtures or structures. A custom solution starts from the production task and may require project-specific handling, motion, vision, automation, control, data or safety interfaces.
Does adding an accessory automatically make the project a custom solution?
No. A rotary axis, fixture, autofocus unit or enclosure change can often remain a standard-platform customization. It becomes solution-level when the machine must be engineered around a wider production sequence or multiple system interfaces.
What can be customized for OEM or private-label supply?
Depending on the confirmed project scope, requirements can include customer logo, model naming, machine color or appearance, labels, packaging, manuals, language versions, destination-market requirements and repeat configuration for ongoing orders. For repeat programs, the agreed sample, appearance, packaging artwork or configuration baseline can be used as the confirmation reference for subsequent supply.
Is OEM / private label the same as ODM?
Not necessarily. OEM or private-label work can focus mainly on branding and repeat supply. ODM generally involves deeper participation in defining or adapting the product configuration for the customer's market or product requirement.
What should be confirmed before repeat OEM or private-label supply?
The project should confirm the branding scope, machine configuration, destination-market requirements, packaging and documentation needs, plus the reference used for repeat supply. Depending on the program, that reference may be an approved sample machine, appearance reference, packaging artwork or agreed configuration list.
Can a custom enclosure make the system Class 1 automatically?
No. Laser safety classification depends on the complete configured system, accessible radiation, interlocks, use mode and applicable assessment. Safety must be reviewed as part of the complete system.
Do vision, flying marking and MES integration guarantee cycle time?
No. Full cycle time depends on marking content, motion, loading, camera logic, data exchange, inspection and reject handling. Representative samples and a sequence review may be required.
Where should I ask for a standard fiber, UV or CO₂ machine?
Use Request a Quote for standard machines and normal selectable configurations that do not require non-standard engineering or private-label customization.
